Foley announces schedule changes for waste collection during July 4 holiday

Posted

Residents of Foley should anticipate adjustments to garbage, recycling and yard waste collection due to the upcoming July 4 holiday.

City offices, including Foley Public Works, will be closed on Thursday and Friday, July 4 and July 5, in observance of Independence Day.

The two-day closure may cause delays in the collection of limbs and yard waste. Residents are advised to plan accordingly for these changes.

Revised collection schedule:

  • Garbage and recycling typically scheduled for Thursday, July 4, will be collected on Tuesday, July 2.
  • Garbage and recycling scheduled for Friday, July 5, will be collected on Wednesday, July 3.

The collection of limbs, yard waste, and bulk debris will resume on Monday, July 8. Crews will start with routes regularly scheduled for that day and continue in areas where yard waste was originally scheduled for collection on Wednesday, July 3.

Garbage collection will be prioritized, followed by recyclables, until all collections are completed and up to date. Yard waste routes may experience delays for several days until all pickups are finalized.

All collection routes will begin at 6 a.m. each day. Residents are encouraged to set out their items early to ensure timely pickup.
