Fairhope’s Bossard signs with Mobile Ram cheer squad

Current Pirate will factor into extending a national championship tournament streak

Posted

Fairhope senior Michelle Bossard signed with the University of Mobile competitive cheerleading squad during a Jan. 6 ceremony at First Baptist Church.

Bossard was part of the Pirate team that earned a fourth-place finish at the AHSAA state championship in December after they won the Class 7A Game Day division at the South Regional.

She was also recently one of four local representatives who participated in UCA All-American events where Bossard was part of the on-field performance at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando Jan. 2.

The Fairhope senior will look to help the Ram team extend a streak of competing at the NAIA National Championship Tournament where Mobile has been every year since 2019. Kami Whiteis has served as the head coach since she started the cheer program in 2012 and entered the Rams into the co-ed competitive cheer circuit in the 2016-17 season.

While Mobile is looking for its fifth straight national tournament bid this winter, the squad is currently being helped by a few Baldwin County graduates. The 2022-23 roster includes senior Lauren Meador from Spanish Fort, junior Alyssa Cherry from Robertsdale and freshman Kylie Bowers from Gulf Shores.
