Fairhope Public Library Foundation donates to capital campaign

FAIRHOPE — The Fairhope Public Library Foundation (FPLF), will donate $200,000 to the Fairhope Library Capital Campaign to support the build-out of new library space on the second floor of the Fairhope Public Library.

The FPLF has held a philanthropic fund at the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation for several years. The FPLF made the decision to allocate the entire fund to support the Fairhope Library Capital Campaign, thereby creating a real impact by helping to fund a major, permanent addition to the library.

“The Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation has maximized our charitable contributions in the most successful way possible,” said Jim Smith, president of the FPLF. “They have been invaluable in helping FPLF to accumulate, grow and protect the very significant sum that FPLF is now able to contribute to the buildout of the library.”

“As trusted stewards of charitable funding, the Community Foundation is perfectly poised to assist our local communities,” said Rebecca Byrne, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of South Alabama. “We are pleased to be a part of this collaborative initiative to enhance the Fairhope Public Library, a signature landmark and gathering place for the community.”

Individuals and organizations interested in establishing a fund with the Community Foundation of South Alabama may call (251) 438-5591 or visit www.communityfoundationsa.org.
