Dr. Ernest E. Roberts, Jr., a native of Miami, Florida, and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away at his home Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023. He graduated from Miami High School and went on to Lawrenceville Preparatory School in New Jersey. He then attended and graduated Princeton University in 1951 and received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, from the University of Florida. He taught Psychology at U.S.A. for 29 years, from 1967 - 1996. Dr. Roberts was a U.S. Army Veteran. During the Korean War he was stationed at Ft. Knox Armored Medical Research Facility at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. In the 1970’s, he worked at Manna House helping adults battling addiction. He was a consultant psychologist and co-founder of Cornerstone Facility from 1976 – 1987, for children at risk. He was consulting Clinical Psychologist at Wilmer Hall for many years. While there, he repaired bicycles for the children. He was a kind and caring man. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jane Perry Roberts and granddaughter, Krisanna Roberts. Dr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Judith Roberts of Fairhope; son, Mark (Laura) Roberts of Mobile; daughter, Laurie (Steve) Jackson of Pensacola, Florida; stepdaughter, Bronwen (Jack) Wester of Gaylesville, Alabama; grandchildren, Alex Jackson, Sid Jackson, Luke (Lindsey) Jackson and Sam Jackson; step grandchildren, Michael Lunsford, Allen Wester, Johnathan Wester, Morgan Wester, Owen Wester; great granddaughter, Savannah Marie Jackson; brother, Billy (Ethel) Roberts, of Ocala, Florida, and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
