Applications for Gulf Shores' 2026 spring cycle of its Nonprofit Grants Program are still being accepted with the deadline approaching in about a week.
Feb. 15 is the cutoff date for submissions, which will be reviewed by the city's Grant Review Committee.
The Nonprofit Grants Program provides funding for nonprofits that benefit Gulf Shores residents. Organizations do not have to have a physical location in Gulf Shores.
According to a press release on the program, organizations that have "significant local impact" and offer an "efficient use of resources" will be prioritized in grant distributions.
"The Nonprofit Grants Program reflects our dedication to supporting organizations that make a real difference in the lives of Gulf Shores residents," City Administrator Jon Walker said in the press release. "We want to ensure these groups have the resources they need to continue their important work."
Each year, the city offers a funding cycle in the spring and fall. Fall 2025 cycle awards went to the Christian Service Center, Sea Glass Initiative, Gulf Coast Arts Alliance, Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium and South Baldwin Literacy Council.
Eligible nonprofits can receive up to $2,000 per seasonal cycle, with the opportunity to earn $4,000 each year. Funds may be used on projects, events or essential resources. Funds cannot go toward salaries, debt service, operational costs or political lobbying.
