FOLEY — Embrace the last few days of summer and transcend into the enchanted forest at Midsummer Night's Dream Tea, hosted by the Copper Kettle Tea Bar in Foley on Aug. 26.

The event will feature local harpist Ashley Crosland, local actors and also actors from the recent production of Midsummer Night's Dream at Theatre 98 in Fairhope.

"We are super excited. Visitors will feel the transformation as they leave the park and come into the enchanted forest," said co-owner Robin Peters. "We will have themed tea and desserts and actors doing scenes from the play. They may even pull the audience in; we do a lot of improv at Theater 98."

Peters said the menu will feature a Danish berry cold soup, dark chocolate tart, creme brulee and several different teas.

"When guests come in, they will be given the first tea, a 'love potion,'" Peters said. "We will also have our signature chocolate strawberry tea, an array of hot and iced teas and a 'Midsummer Night's Dream' tea with pineapple and strawberry."

Peters said the event will be sectioned into three different areas, and seating will be in the middle of all three sections.

"There are three stories within the play, and the play will come out from all different areas," Peters said. "There will be a forest area and an area with the human characters from the play interacting.

"Our staff loves to dress up and help the audience transition into the story when greeted at the door. We have a lot of artistic people in the area and so many people who are so talented, so this is the perfect place for everyone to come together."

Peters said she is excited to bring this creative experience to Baldwin County and connect with the community.

"I love seeing people when they first walk in, and it's so fun because there isn't any other place doing this." Peters said. "The hospitality of my staff is off the charts, and, living in such a grassroots area, it is a great opportunity for actors and our harpist to appeal to people who may not go to theater. It is a really neat opportunity for them to show the locals what they can do."
