ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Camps, hosted by Robertsdale Elementary School library science instructor Sandra Sawyer and assistant Bailey Odom, continued this past week with campers participating in Camp Read-A-Lot June 19-23 in the library at RES.
The camp featured books by author Roald Dahl with Sawyer reading from the books, followed by activities related to the books. Monday’s activities centered around “James and the Giant Peach.” Other books included “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Matilda,” and “The Fantastic Mr. Fox.”
Camps are part of the city of Robertsdale’s free summer camp series, are limited to 50 campers per camp, a morning camp for ages 6 to 9 years old and an afternoon camp for ages 10 to 12 years old.
Camps conclude with Do-It-Yourself Crafts, Thursday and Friday, June 29-30. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to noon for ages 6 to 9 years old and 1 to 4 p.m. for 10 to 12 year olds. For more information visit Robertsdale.org or call 251-947-8900.
