The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Bayside Academy junior Blakeley Robbins after the Admirals’ 21st straight state championship.
The AHSAA state tournament MVP was recently named MaxPreps’ Alabama Player of the Year following a season of 1,479 assists 411 digs, 150 kills, 105 aces and 56 total blocks to help Bayside Academy finish with a 48-14 overall record.
Robbins was also named to MaxPreps’ All-America team as a second-team setter and the Underclass All-America team as a first-team setter.
Freshman outside hitter Haley Robinson, also named to the state tournament team, joined Robbins on the Underclass All-America team as a second-team hitter after she finished with 439 kills and 74 blocks.
Another freshman in Mary Katherine Whitehurst found herself atop MaxPreps’ statistical leaderboards for athletes in the Class of 2026 with 654 digs in her 172 sets played this season. Regardless of classification, that total had her ranked No. 122 in the nation in 2022.
All three student-athletes will return to the court for the Admirals in their search for the program’s 32nd overall state championship and the 22nd consecutive.
