Another honor can be added to the trophy case of Bayshore Christian junior Caden Phillippi, whose individual state championship helped win over Gulf Coast Media readers to earn Seacrest Furniture Athlete of the Week distinction.

The newest Class 3A cross country state champion also helped the Eagles hoist their third consecutive Blue Map trophy on the cross country course. Phillippi set a course record at sectionals before he hit the finish line first in Saturday’s state finals with a time of 15:55.73 which was good enough for a 23-second lead over the second-place finisher.
