The Bay Minette Beautification Committee recently presented its Yard of the Month Award and the Business of Month Awards.

The Yard of the Month was presented to Harold and Charlotte Holmes on McMillan Avenue. The couple has been married for 58 years and grew up next door to each other on McMillan Avenue.

They returned to the Holmes family residence on McMillan Avenue more than 20 years ago and have spent the years since beautifying all corners of the landscape.

Coastal Alabama Community College was presented the Business of the Month Award. The college was recognized for its recent beautification efforts, which included improvements to the buildings and landscaping at the Bay Minette campus on US 31 South.

Accepting the award for CACC included President Dr. Craig Pouncey, Facilities Director Dewey Blansett, and Chief Communications Officer Sara Godwin Davis.

Beautification Committee members in attendance for both presentations included Tammy Smith, Jody McMillan, Martha Ryan, Barbara McLain, Pam Hartner, Liana Barnett and Henry Postma.
