Fresh off the national championship game, Daphne alumnus Trent Battle visited his old elementary school while on break from Texas Christian University.

Daphne Elementary School hosted Battle for a visit where students got their chance to take a picture with the Horned Frogs’ running back who used to roam those same hallways. During his time in the Daphne school system, Battle made his fair share of impact on those around him.

“He is so sweet and from such an amazing family,” Lydia Whitlock Barber commented on Facebook. “Love the Battles! I remember him being in many of the classes I subbed. He just stood out. Way to go!”

The Trojans’ former quarterback became the third Daphne grad to play in college football’s national title game over the last decade following Ryan Anderson and TJ Yeldon. Battle finished his redshirt freshman year at TCU with 153 all-purpose yards and 7 special teams tackles.

Battle graduated Daphne High School as a two-time all-state honoree and finished his senior season for the Trojans with 1,612 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns to go along with 716 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. He received 13 other Division I offers.
