Coastal Alabama is now in a Tropical Storm Warning due to the approaching Tropical Storm Francine, as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The Warning is in effect for the Alabama coast from the Mississippi/Alabama border to the Alabama/Florida border. The storm is expected to be a Category Two when it makes landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday or Wednesday night.

Statement from Baldwin County Public Schools Superintendent Eddie Tyler: “We want to let you know that we have been on top of the weather developments in the Gulf regarding the tropical activity. School will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, but ALL extracurricular activities will be canceled, including After School Child Care. We are going to wait until later this evening to make a determination about Thursday, but we will have a final decision for you by Wednesday morning.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church will be opening their doors at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, as a "Safer Place." Location: 506 N. Pine St., Foley, AL 36535
Make sure all citizens bring everything they will need as this is just a "Safer Place" from the storm. This is not a shelter. Citizens will need to bring all toiletries, bedding, food, water and medicine.
