High school volleyball playoffs are well underway and the tackle-football postseason approaches as well, but there's another fall sport gearing up for bracket play in the coming weeks.

Flag football has effectively taken the nation by storm, and that trend has certainly impacted Baldwin County and its female athletes.

Following a highly competitive 2026 season, six local schools have qualified for their respective playoffs and will begin their chase for a state title in the coming weeks.

Here's a breakdown of information for each team's postseason run:

  • Within the private-school ranks, St. Michael Catholic has already secured a top seed in the A/AA bracket. The Cardinals will await the victor of the Glenwood vs. McGill-Toolen matchup, which is slated for Nov. 3. St. Michael would then host the winner Nov. 10, with the team currently owning a 4-4 overall record with one more game to go (Tuesday, @ Saraland).

  • At the 5A level, Spanish Fort and Baldwin County will each begin their postseason stays Tuesday, Nov. 3. The Lady Toros (12-1) will host Pelham to begin their playoff run, and they would face the victor of the Hillcrest-Wetumpka matchup with a win. Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers (7-4) will host Hueytown in their opener, with the winner of the Central-Park Crossing clash waiting in the next round.

  • And lastly, the 6A bracket features a trio of local teams. Both Daphne (10-2) and Fairhope (12-1) earned first-round byes, meaning that neither team will play until Nov. 10. In the meantime, the Lady Trojans will watch Auburn battle Baker, while the Lady Pirates could match up with Robertsdale (6-9) if the Lady Golden Bears are able to defeat Enterprise.

Flag football championship games are set for Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Hancock-Whitney Stadium in Mobile.
