Art show planned by MAB

SPANISH FORT, Ala. — The Mobile Association for the Blind will sponsor a benefit art show on Saturday, Jan. 30, from noon until 5 p.m., at Five Rivers Delta Resource Center on Battleship Parkway in Spanish Fort.

The show will also take place Sunday, from noon-5 p.m., at Daugherty’s Gallery, 857-A Downtowner Blvd. in Mobile.

The Five Rivers Center is located directly across from Meaher State Park, on Five Rivers Drive.

The shows are being conducted by Daugherty’s Gallery and Edleman Fine Arts Ltd, New York.

Edleman Fine Arts represents a stable of international artists who have had group shows throughout the world.

Their company specializes in promoting young artists for commercial representation, as well as, exhibition quality work for private collections.

They also specialize in finding rare and unusual works of art in addition to popular work at the lowest possible prices.

Over 500 original oil paintings in many styles will be displayed.

Also featured will be Art on Paper, including works by Chagall, Albrect Durer, Peter Max, Rembrandt, Norman Rockwell, JMW Turner, Jose Luis Cuevas, Renoir, Leonor Fini, Pablo Picasso, Robert Wells Joan Miro, Leroy Neiman and more.

The Mobile Association for the Blind is a nonprofit agency that provides training, evaluation, adjustment services, counseling, sheltered employment and/or job placement in the competitive labor market.

These services are provided for individuals who may be blind or visually impaired as well as for individuals with other sensory, physical, and/or mental disabilities which create barriers to vocational goals or personal independence.

The MAB, a United Way agency that has been in existence since 1926, will receive a percentage of the amount received from each sale and 100 percent of that amount will be a charitable donation to the agency. All of the amount donated is tax deductable.
