Kiwanis Club of Bay Minette donates to support events

Two free events in Bay Minette will provide school supplies, food and entertainment to help area students prepare for the new school year.

The Kiwanis Club of Bay Minette recently donated money to support these events organized by local groups.
The third-annual Back to School Giveaway, sponsored by the Women’s Divine Organization, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 27, at Blackburn Park, 101 N. Hoyle Ave., in downtown Bay Minette. The event will feature school supplies, food, entertainment, games, a photo booth and more.

Nancy Dean, secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Bay Minette, presented $500 to Melissa Gaines Phillips of the Women’s Divine Organization in support of this event.

Additionally, Chosen Youth Outreach will hold its annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 3, starting at 10 a.m. at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center, 301 D’Olive St., in Bay Minette. This free event will include a school supply giveaway, free food, live worship and entertainment.

Brittany Clay, vice president of the Kiwanis Club of Bay Minette, presented $500 to Chosen Youth Outreach representatives Regina Curry and Danyl January to support the event.
