The winner of the 11th Annual BBQ & Blues official artwork contest is Foley Elementary School 1st grader Yahaira Villalobos-Gomez! Pictured here, Villalobos-Gomez shows off the event’s t-shirt printed with her artwork along with, from left to right, Foley Elementary Principal Michelle Moore, South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce Event Director Rachel Spear, Foley Elementary School Art Teacher Tracy Wilhelm, and Chamber Board Member Rich Caldwell.
The Annual BBQ & Blues Festival is put on by the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds go to the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation, which supports schools in and around Foley’s feeder pattern. Each year students are encouraged by the schools’ art teachers to create a design for the event’s official t-shirt, with the top three artworks from each grade being submitted into the contest to compete for the win.
