LOXLEY, Alabama — A single-vehicle crash Friday morning on Interstate 10 has claimed the life of a Mobile man.
Robert G. Harper Jr., 30, of Mobile, was traveling east in a 2008 Toyota Avalon at approximately 6 a.m. Friday, when the vehicle left roadway, overturned and struck a tree, according to a release issued Friday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The crash occurred near the 41-mile marker of I-10, halfway between the Alabama 59 Loxley exit and the Alabama 181 Malbis exit.
Harper, who was using a seat belt at the time, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
According to the release, the cause of the crash is unknown at this time as troopers continue to investigate.
