Rowena Athena Zoerner, 92, born in Washington, D.C., and a resident of Bay Minette, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at her residence.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Matthews, Carter and Boyce accounting firm.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Albert Zoerner Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Albert (Sheila) Zoerner Jr., of Benecia, Calif., and Robert “Bob” Alan (Susie) Zoerner of Bay Minette; three grandchildren, Arlo Jackson Zoerner of Benecia, Calif., Remarcus Gray and Athena Rider, both of Bay Minette; one brother, David Nicol of Lanham Md.; three sisters, Thelma Koerber of Silver Springs, Md., Anita Vaughn of Tucson, Ariz., and Leda Sweet of Relay, Md.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 10 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Cremation will follow.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Community Hospice of Baldwin County 311 D’Olive Street, Bay Minette, AL 36507 or to the First Baptist Church P.O. Box 1628 Bay Minette, AL 36507.
