The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce is now taking applications for the Youth Leadership Program. The application deadline is April 14.

The program is an intensive and elite, seven-month program for rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders, designed to provide Eastern Shore high school students with the opportunity to gain a greater knowledge about their community, develop strong leadership skills and gain more self and social awareness.

During the year-long program students learn the history and geography of Baldwin County, law and government, business smarts, health and human services topics and study the environment.

In addition to class sessions, students work in teams to develop small group projects that address and benefit a special community need. More than 600 students have participated in the program over the years.

Apply online at www.ESChamber.com or call (251) 928-6387 for more information.
