Roy A. Wright, 70, a native of Summerdale and a longtime resident of Albuquerque, N.M., died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 after a 10-month battle with cancer.
He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service and then retired after 20 years of service with American Furniture.
He was a loving deveoted husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Virginia Wright; two children, David (Kathy) Wright and Diana (Rick) Dawes; grandchildren, Zackery, Brandon, Jacob, Taryn and Abigail; brother, Edward (Marilyn) Wright and his faithful dog, Nugget.
Funeral services and visitation were held Monday, Aug. 17 at Northwest Baptist Church, Albuquerque. Interment with full military honors followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
