Malcolm McKenzie Wright, 65, a native of Mobile, died Thursday, March 25, 2010.
He graduated from Murphy High School in 1963 and received a B.S. in civil engineering from Auburn University in 1969. He was a combat veteran, serving in Vietnam as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He had an extensive engineering career, most of it spent in foreign countries: Saudi Arabia, Canada, Europe, and Pakistan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Valda Wright.
Survivors include his loving wife Suzanne Shaw Wright; brother Bill (Peggy) Wright, son, Joe M. Wright; daughter, Julie (Chris) Schmidt; three grandchildren, David Bishop, Abbey and Bennie Schmidt; two nieces, Sally (Mike) Williams and Rebecca (Matt) Pritchett, cousins, Maureen McKenzie (Hal) Avery Willie (Susan) McKenzie; and uncle, Maurice (Elaine) McKenzie.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28 at the United Methodist Church in Daphne.
