Page & Palette Bookstore 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope, may have the perfect solution for parents whose children are begging for a pet. Due to popular demand, the Children’s Department will offer a Webkinz workshop on Saturday, 1-3 p.m.
Webkinz are lovable plush pets that each come with a unique secret code. With the code, children can enter the Webkinz World at www.webkinz.com.
In this imaginative world, pet owners can care for their virtual pet, answer trivia, earn KinzCash and play cool kids’ games.
The workshops will focus on the fun things that kids can do with the interactive Web site.
Children are encouraged to come to the workshop and share their user names with other participants, so they can keep in touch with one another. Attendees will also learn about all the online activities they can do with their Webkinz.
Participants will discover how to care for their virtual pets, and Dr. Renee Lopez of Lopez Family Chiropractic will talk about the importance of selecting healthy foods for themselves and their Webkinz.
She will provide a nutritious snack for the children so they may see first-hand that healthy eating can be fun.
“My goal is to teach the children why it’s important to feed their Webkinz well. I want them to get a basic understanding that we eat to fuel our bodies so that our bodies will be healthy. In other words, if we put good stuff in, we get good results,” explained Dr. Lopez.
Page & Palette offers a punch card plan that helps kids work toward earning free Webkinz. After buying any five Webkinz or Lil’ Kinz, customers receive one plush pet free. Punch cards will be available at the workshops.
Because of the popularity of this event, early registration is encouraged. To sign up for the workshop contact Page & Palette Bookstore at 928-5295, or visit the store.
