George Peyton Woolf, 81, a native of Bay Minette, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville.
He was the retired owner of George P. Woolf Enterprises, Inc. in the logging and trucking business; and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose (Wilson) Allen of Huntsville and Abbe (Rafael) Diaz of Thomasville; former wife, Brunette K. Woolf of Huntsville; three grandchildren, Reid Allen, William Allen and Halle Diaz; and a sister, Dorothy Mullen of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 20 at Montgomery Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Sherod C. Matheney Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Montgomery Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Rafael Diaz, Wilson Allen, Teddy Mullen, Gene Mullen, Jimmy Mullen and Reid Allen. Honorary Pallbearers were Harold Bryars, Dick Cox, Frank Klasmich and Frank Hadley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to any veteran related organization.
