Robert Earl Woods, 77, a native of Liberty and a resident of Foley died Wednesday, May 13, 2009.
He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force for 16 years. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Woods, and two brothers, Harland and Harold Woods.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Cora Mary Woods of Foley; two daughters, Clara Woods and Teresa Woods Wilson, both of Adamsville; brother, Howard Woods of Waterbury, Conn.; sister, Evelyn Timmerman of Oneonta; grandchildren, Scott McClellan of Adamsville, Crystal (Eric) Combs of Morris, Ashley Wilson of Auburn and Ryan Woods of Adamsville; great-grandchildren, Brianna Combs, Zaylie Combs and Cameron McClellan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial donations be made to one's favorite charity.
