We hope you are having a great and safe Spring Break!

Our yearbooks are now on sale for $32.00. This is a hard cover book with 56 color pages. A limited number of yearbooks have been ordered so don’t wait too late to get yours.

Report cards went home on March 23rd. Make sure you return them when we get back from Spring Break.

Get ready to cheer on all of our students who will be recognized at our Honors’ Assembly at 9 am in the 4th of April. We also have our Honors’ Breakfast along with Pizza Snack that same day.

National Elementary Honor Society or NEHS is one of the many activities at our school. Mrs. Elaine Herring and Ms. Erin Pennington sponsor this club. NEHS is for students who are in 5th and 6th grade, have met certain grade requirements along with demonstrating excellent attendance and behavior. These students work together through out the year in community service projects.

Our fourth graders have been working very hard this year! They are really enjoying the new Mac Books! They are helping with our reading tests because students always need to take tests. Speaking of reading, we have lots of students getting those bright blue reading t-shirts meaning they have achieved at least 35 reading points for the year. In spelling, reading, and grammar, students are practicing skills for ARMT+. In math, students are reviewing fourth grade skills for testing. In science, students are learning about the animal cycle. They had a fun activity on animal folktales recently. For Alabama history, they are learning about rebuilding Alabama after the Civil War. They are excited about their big Montgomery field trip just around the corner! Our fourth graders are really working hard this year!!

Here are our themes for testing week: On April 9th, students may wear their favorite hat and flip flops for they are “headed for success and not flipping out.” On April 10th, students will be served healthy snacks for they are “healthy students making smart choices.” April 10th is ARMT+ Reading. On April 11th, students may bring their favorite fruit snack for “they’re doing berry well.” April 11th is ARMT+ Reading. On April 11th, students will be served cookies for a snack for they will all “be a smart cookie.” April 12th is ARMT+ Math. On April 13th, students will receive a blow pop for no one wants to “blow the last day.” April 13th is ARMT+ Math and Science for 5th grade. April16th-20th is ARMT+ make up week.

Dates to remember: April 10th is Sonic Spirit Night, April 16th begins Teacher Appreciation Week, April 18th is Midterm Progress Reports, April 19th is the 5th Grade New Orleans Trip, and April 20th is the PTO Spring Fling at 6p.m.
