Willie Edward Jemison Jr., 60, a native of Prince George County, Va. and a resident of Daphne, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
Though born in Virginia, he grew up and lived in Daphne, where he completed his education at Baldwin County High School, graduating with the class of 1970.
At an early age, Willie Edward accepted Christ, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Daphne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie E. Jemison Sr.; his mother, Ollie Bailey Jemison; and his sister, Mary Alice Pruitt.
Willie Edward leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Cornelius (JoAnn) Jemison of Richton, Ill.; two sisters, Angela (Freddie) Howard of Tucker, Ga. and Helen Johnson of Chicago, Ill.; cousins, Grayson Mitchell of Chicago, Ill. and Cassandra L. Mitchell of Mobile; seven nephews, Cedric Johnson, Derick Johnson, Leroy Pruitt, Bryant Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Cornelius Jemison Jr. and Josselyn Howard; six nieces, Patricia Johnson, Olivia Pruitt, Pamela Pruitt, Terry Pruitt, Angie Pruitt and Tracy Jemison; two great-nephews; four great-nieces; and a host of cousins, family and friends. Willie Edward’s dearest and closet friend was Veronica Spells of New Orleans.
Services will be held at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Daphne on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11 a.m., with a viewing at 10 a.m.
