Betty “Jeanne” Williamson, a loving mother and grandmother a long-time former resident of Germantown, Md., residing in Fairhope with family, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, after a brief illness.
She retired from Marriott Corporation in 1982, after working there for many years. She will be greatly missed by her children, family and friends. Her wit, compassion and kindness will be remembered by all the many lives that she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Capt. Lindsey Williamson, U.S. Navy, a son, Murray Stitt, her parents and sister.
Survivors include four children, John (Jeri) Stitt of Jefferson, Md., Jeanne Morton and Larry Stitt, both of Frederick, Md., and David (Judy) Stitt of Mobile; grandchildren, Kelly Snell, Jennifer Stitt, Matthew Stitt, Courtney Stitt, Darcy Matacio, Lindsay Morton, Ryan Sullivan and Neil Sullivan, all of Maryland, Bobbie Miles, Mandy Allen and Laura Stitt, all of Nashville, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at Clarksburg United Methodist Church, 23425 Spire St., Clarksburg, Md.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association.
