Charles F. “Charlie Frank” Williams, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at his home.
He was a native of Perdido and a resident of Crossroads for the past 69 years. He was a member of the Crossroads Church of God; was a veteran of World War II; member of the Purple Heart Club; one of General Patton's soldiers; and was also retired from L&N Railroad after 50 years.
He was preceded in death by a son Charles Frank Williams Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Marie Williams of Crossroads; daughter-in-law, Mary Williams Roberts of Crossroads; three grandchildren, Kim Williams, Scott Williams and Rusty Williams, all of Crossroads; and three great-grandchildren, Drew Williams, Hunter Williams and Mason Williams, all of Crossroads.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 10 at the Cross Roads Church of God with the Rev. Donnie Sanders officiating. Burial followed at Cross Roads Church of God Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Petty Funeral Homes LLC, Eastside Chapel, Atmore.
