William Ellis Jackson, 77, born in Brewton and a resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at his residence.
He was a sergeant first class (retired) for the U.S. Army. He was a member of Square and Compass Masonic Lodge No. 3 in Tokyo, Japan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie (Griffin) Jackson of Bay Minette; his children, William R. Jackson of Bay Minette, Robert Earl “Bobby” (Fannie) Jackson of Pine Grove, Phillip (Margarette) Jackson of Perdido, Donald B. (Cindy) Jackson of Bay Minette, Donald W. Jackson of Bay Minette and Christopher Lee Jackson of Bay Minette; one brother, Floyd E. (Claire) Jackson of Bay Minette; one sister, Louise (Joel) Lowell of Pensacola; 11 grandchildren, Geoffery Jackson, Bruce W. Jackson, Melissa Steward, Brandon Jackson, Tony Parker, Monica Abbott, Diane Parker, Marjorie Burkett, Sarah Dixon, Ashley Brown and Daniel Jackson; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside.
The family will receive Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, from 6 until 9 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Jackson, Timothy Steward, Donald B. Jackson, Donald W. Jackson, Brandon Jackson and Jonathan Brown.
