Willard E. “Bill” Carlson, 93, a native of Mobile, a former resident of Michigan residing in Daphne, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at a local hospital. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he was an active member. Mr. Carlson was a Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy for four years. He retired from Consumer Power Co., then he and his wife, Bettie, moved to Lake Forest where they could play golf everyday. Mr. Carlson is preceded in death by his wife, Bettie. Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Carlson-Valdes, Daphne; one son, Scott L. Carlso, Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Carl Carlson, Thomasville,; one sister, Ann Gaines, Salem, Ill.; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends. In celebration of Mr. Carlson’s life, a memorial service will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11 a.m.. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to time of service. Internment will be in St. Paul’s Garden of Resurrection.
