Ivey Nixon Welch died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in Fairhope.
She was born Feb. 18, 1917 in Vernon, Fla., to James Dallas and Esther Williams Nixon, was a longtime resident of Panama City, Fla. A recent resident of Bob Hope Village, Shalimar, Fla., she moved to Fairhope, o be with her daughters when she became ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Vernon W. Welch Sr., sister, Jennie Raines, brother, Floyd Nixon, grandson, Gary Perfect, great grandson, Brian Perfect and two sons-in-law, Edward S. Coley and John W. Kendrick II.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Kendrick and Rose Marie (Paul) Perfect, both of Fairhope; son, Vernon W. (Jean Michael “Mike”) Welch of Panama City, Fla.; sister, Grace Atkinson of Crestview, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Vistation will be held beginning at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at Wilson Funeral Home, Panama City, Fla. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of you choice.
