Dr. Steven Glenn Weekley, 59, of Hendersonville, died Sept. 11, 2007.
He pastored First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, Tenn.; First Baptist Church of Jasper; First Baptist Church of Fayette; First Baptist Church of Colbert Heights of Tuscumbia; Tabernacle Baptist Church of Pickton, Texas; First Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals and Lee Heights Baptist Church of Florence. He was a member of Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, Alabama Baptist Executive Committee, president of Alabama Baptist pastor’s conference, Trustee of Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and Children’’s Home, Tennessee Baptist Convention and a member of Southern Baptist Convention Committee on Nominations.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Weekley, mother Beulah Weekley and brother-in-law, Tom Harville.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Cathy Weekley; children, Amy (Brady) Cooper, Melinda (Richard) Ryan and Jarrod Weekley; grandchildren, Will Cooper, Clay Cooper, Evie Ryan, Brant Ryan and Jake Ryan; brothers, James Weekley and Marvin Weekley; and sister, Leila Harville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 at First Baptist Church in Perdido. Burial will follow at Perdido Baptist Cemetery. A memorial service will be held from 8 to 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Building Fund, 106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd., Hendersonville, TN 37075.
