Baldwin’s high school football teams are set to play some important region games on Friday that could help shape their postseason hopes.
In Class 6A, Region 2 the Baldwin County Tigers visit Daphne for a game with serious playoff implications. The game is crucial for the playoff hopes of both the Tigers (4-2, 1-2) and Trojans (2-4, 2-1). A win keeps either team in the hunt, while a loss would be a major setback.
Also in Region 2, Foley (3-3, 2-2) plays at Satsuma (1-5, 1-2). Foley needs a region win after losing to Daphne last week, and Satsuma is struggling this season.
Robertsdale (0-6, 0-4) visits the region’s frontrunner Fairhope (6-0, 3-0). A win for Fairhope would help solidify the Pirates’ lead in the region.
In 5A, Region 1 Gulf Shores (4-2, 2-2) hosts Escambia County while Spanish Fort (5-1, 3-1) will visit Ladd-Peebles Stadium to play LeFlore. Spanish Fort and Gulf Shores both won important region games last week.
And in 3A, Region 1 Phil Lazenby’s Bayside Academy Admirals will host Cottage Hill.
