Walter R. Wallace, 90, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013.
He had a 44-year career in the food flavor industry. He retired as vice president of manufacturing and technical service for Universal Flavors International in 1988.
He was a member of Rotary International for many years, and served as club president and in other offices. He was named a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Since his retirement in 1988, he has served as a volunteer small business counselor for Service Corps of Retired Executives in Maryville and later in Cleveland, Miss., where he moved after his wife’s death in 2005.
He wass preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Parulski.
He is survived by his sister, Frances Ashmore of Knoxville, Tenn.; sons, Walter Jr. of Los Angeles and Dr. Jeffrey of Fairhope; daughter, Cynthia Wallace Lonie of Everett, Wash.; and loving companion, Ann Ruscoe of Cleveland.
Also surviving are grandsons, Forrest and Marcus; and granddaughters, Skye and Olivia Grace.
There will be a family graveside service at St. Andrews Episcopal Church Cemetery in Maryville, Tenn.
