Voting amendment pending at state

The citizens have spoken in Baldwin County District 14 through referendum; which is precisely how the law was intended to work. As a County Commissioner, I support the American democratic process to work through a vote of the people, and I am pleased this issue was decided by the people of District 14.

With an amendment to a bill regarding the voting process, future requests will be more clearly defined, i.e., the petition would require 10 percent of the voters’ signatures, without exception. This bill, and the aforementioned amendment, are presently pending in the Alabama Legislature and should go up for a vote before the end of this session.
