Village of Hope Jamboree to spotlight foster care needs in Baldwin County

Posted

Community leaders and local organizations will gather May 9 at the University of South Alabama’s Fairhope campus for the Village of Hope Jamboree, a free, family-focused event designed to raise awareness and support for foster care services in Baldwin County.

The event is set for Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 111 St. James St. in downtown Fairhope. Organizers say the jamboree will blend entertainment and outreach as part of a broader collaborative effort to address gaps in foster care–related services across the county.

Village of Hope is a partnership of community leaders and groups working together to strengthen resources for foster and adoptive families. The initiative was formed in response to ongoing needs within Baldwin County’s child welfare system, where advocates say families often face limited access to support services, community connections and practical assistance.

The May 9 event aims to bring those needs into focus while offering a welcoming space for families to gather under the shade of Fairhope’s oak trees.

Billed as “fostering hope in Fairhope,” the jamboree will feature live music, free games for children, face painting, a bouncy castle and a petting zoo. Food and sweet treats will also be available. Organizers describe the day as an opportunity for laughter, connection and purpose, with activities designed to engage children and adults alike.

Admission is free, and proceeds from the event will directly support Baldwin County’s foster and adoptive community.

Village of Hope organizers encourage residents across Baldwin County to attend, learn more about foster care needs and explore ways to get involved. More information can be found on Facebook by searching “Village of Hope – Baldwin County.”
