Katelin Crenshaw had nine kills, Morgan Watkins had 18 assists, Brittani Peacock had nine digs and Candace Stewart had four of the team’s 12 aces in the win. BCHS improved to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in area play with a 90% serving percentage in the win. Mallorie Murphy contributed seven kills, Caton Hollingsworth had four kills, Jennifer Modispacher had four blocks and Megan Duncan seven digs for the Tigers, who play in the Bayside “Battle of the Bay” tournament Friday and Saturday and host Robertsdale in area play on Tuesday.

“We controlled the first game then in the second game we got out to about a 5-2 lead,” BCHS head coach Mike Tucker said. “We missed back to back serves and instead of being up by a few points Foley went on a run and got ahead of us, 7-5. From that point on Foley played a lot better. They were up 24-22 at one point. It was real big that we were able to win that second game. I think that took a lot out of them because it put them down 2-0.”

In the third game the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 10-1 lead and outscored Foley 15-6 down the stretch.

“In the third game we got on one of those rolls where everything worked,” Tucker said. “We played all 12 of our girls, so that’s nice. Our backup setter got to play and a couple of the girls who don’t see much time got int. I was very pleased to be able to play everybody and overall I’m pleased with the way we played the match.”
