Vera Peacock, 94, a resident of Wheeling Ill., passed away Sept. 18, 2013 following a sudden illness.
Vera was born in Mobile on Oct. 14, 1918, and spent her life there until she married Richard J. Peacock on July 11, 1941.
They made their home on Long Island, N.Y. where they raised a family. Vera enjoyed gardening, golfing and playing bridge.
They retired to Fairhope in 1989, where they resided until Richard preceded Vera in death on Feb. 6, 2010.
Vera is survived by two daughters, Susan Carver (David) of Palatine, Ill. and Karen Marsman (James Kleine) of Niles, Mich.; one son, Jeff Peacock of Silvana, Wash.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at 10 a.m., at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope.
Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
