While Fairhope junior Ty Watkins ran his way to Seacrest Furniture Athlete of the Week honors with three records in three meets, it wasn’t long ago he was recovering from ACL surgery.
In his first week back in action following six months off, Watkins broke a 3-year-old school record in the 100-meter dash on Tuesday (10.75), set the meet record in the 200-meter dash at the Mobile Challenge of Champions on Friday (22.34) and then was part of the 4x100-meter relay team that took down its own school record on Saturday (42.38) according to times from athletic.net.
