ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Two more arrests have been reported in an ongoing investigation into the death of a Milton, Fla., man whose body was found last week off of County Road 68 near Styx River.

According to published reports, Bruce Talbot, 41, of Robertsdale, and Ruth Boyles, 45, who is listed as homeless, were arrested on charges of hindering prosecution in the death of Samuel Henry Dixson, 54, of Milton, who was reported missing on Monday, Sept. 10 and was later identified as the victim after his body was found near the Styx River Bridge on Wednesday, Sept. 12, by volunteers from the Styx River Fire Department.

Two suspects, Adam Lowery Mayton, 28, of Tuscaloosa, and Fred “Shooter” Weiss, 45, of Northport were arrested by the Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office and Homicide Task Force on Sept. 12.

They were transported from the Tuscaloosa County Jail and arraigned in Baldwin County on Sept. 14. As of Wednesday, both are listed on the Baldwin County Corrections Department website as being in jail on a $1 million bond.

Mary Kay Hockett, 48, of Loxley, was also arrested on Sept. 14, charged with hindering prosecution in the case, and was being held on a $100,000 bond.

In a press release issued Thursday, both subjects, as well as the victim, were reportedly members of the Devil’s Diciples motorcycle gang. According to reports, Talbot is also a member of the gang.

“It is believed at this time the motive is related to an internal squabble within the gang,” it was stated in the release.

Hockett was arrested Friday and charged with hindering prosecution, first degree, in connection with the case. Her bond was set at $100,000 and, according to the Corrections Department website, remained in jail Monday.

The victim was identified during a press conference held Thursday morning in Bay Minette.

Dixson was reported missing to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, Sept. 10, bu his wife, who stated she had last spoken with her husband the night of Friday, Sept. 7.

The Sheriff’s Department issued an alert for Dixson and his vehicle on Monday. A short time later the BCSO was contacted by the Escambia County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office and told that they had run the tag for Dixson’s truck on Saturday. On Monday, they returned to find the truck in the same location and took it into evidence. There was no sign of foul play at the scene. Investigators recovered the victim’s walking cane within the truck.

Around 2 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, the Rosinton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire which destroyed a trailer on Northcutt Lane. Sheriff’s officials believe the trailer was a club house for an Alabama chapter of the Devil’s Diciples motorcycle gang.

On Tuesday, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Sheriff’s Department, two men walked into the Robertsdale Police Department and stated that they were there to turn themselves into authorities on a homicide.

After requesting and speaking with council provided by law enforcement, the two men stated they would not provide any information related to the case and would not make a statement. Both subjects were later released. One of the men was transported to Thomas Hospital for injuries related to blunt force trauma.

On Wednesday, volunteers with the Styx River Fire Department found Dixson’s body off County Road 68 near the Styx River Bridge. The body was recovered by investigators and sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy.

The trailer fire is under investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshals.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting in this continuing investigation.
