During the month of July, special collection boxes out all over central Baldwin County to collect school supplies for the 150 school-age foster children living in area homes. Courtney Yohn, a University of West Florida student and intern with the Baldwin County DHS and social workers with the department made and distributed the boxes. Basic school supplies, including backpacks, pencils, paper, notebooks and crayons are needed and Yohn said it takes about $40 to purchase the supplies for each child. In the photo above, Ursula Morris, social worker, Yohn and Kenya Pickett, social worker, place a box at Regions Bank.
