Geneva Irene Tompkins, 99, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at home in Summerdale.
A native of Ohio, she and her late husband, Howard, lived and raised their family in Ft. Wayne, Ind. They retired to Ft. Pierce, Fla., where they spend over 30 years. She came to Alabama to live with her daughter in February 2005.
She spend her life as a homemaker and wonderful example to the family and friends. She was active in the United Methodist churches. She belonged to Crescent Avenue in Ft. Wayne and Lakewood in Ft. Pierce and attended Marlow church in Summerdale.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Tompkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Ginny Harris of Summerdale; son, Don (Mary Jo) Tompkins of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Gisela Tompkins of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; grandchildren, Mark Harris and Cindy Sellers, of West Virginia and Heather McEntire of Utah; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
She will be interred with her husband at Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the building fund of Marlow United Methodist Church.
