Three arrested after stabbing

STYX RIVER — Residents of the Wilcox community have frequently complained about under-age and adult drinking and rowdy behavior in areas along the Styx River.

Responding to complaints from residents of along the Styx River, Baldwin County law enforcement officers have periodically gone into the area from remote locations and found illegal activity and made arrests.

On the evening of June 3, two men were stabbed during what appears to have been an alcohol-fueled argument got out of hand. Officers responded to a disturbance report at 5:30 p.m. on Water World Road.

Lenard Ray Beech, 28, was taken to USA Hospital and Elbert Bartholomew Jones was taken to West Florida Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Tracy Jerome Monti Jr. was a charged with public intoxication and two juveniles were taken into custody for questioning.

According to Anthony Lowery, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the incident is still under investigation and more arrests may be made.

“We anticipate that additional charges will come when the investigation is complete,” he said.
