Thomas Hospital Foundation Announces 26th Annual Grand Summer Ball

Mark your calendars for the Thomas Hospital Foundation’s

26th Annual Grand Summer Ball. The popular event will be held at the historic Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Ala. on August 25. The Foundation has named Pam Todd, chair, and Charlotte Carey, co-chair, of the annual black-tie charity event benefiting Thomas Hospital. Luke Edward, design chair, has plans in motion to create a design element guaranteed to dazzle all.

“The Grand Summer Ball is one of the most beautiful and time-honored traditions on the Eastern Shore,” Todd says. “I knew of this elegant evening long before we moved to Daphne thirteen years ago.   We chose to relocate to the Eastern Shore for many reasons, but the small-town atmosphere and strong community support of its local hospital made this area perfect for our family.”   Since then, Todd has served on various Grand Summer

Ball committees and attended the gala numerous times.   “It is always a magical moment when the doors to the ballroom open, revealing the highly anticipated décor inside.   However, what I find the most inspiring about this event is the purpose behind it---much needed funds are raised for the Thomas Hospital Foundation and the many services it provides,” she explains.

In its 26 year, the Grand Summer Ball has generated more than $3 million and has funded worthwhile projects such as high definition laparoscopic surgical equipment, digital mammography, orthopedic equipment and an award-winning open heart program.

Todd looks forward to working with the ball committee and continuing the traditions of the celebrated event on the Eastern Shore. “I am honored to serve as the chair for this year’s Grand Summer Ball.   Together with my excellent committee and many hard-working volunteers, I hope to make this 26th annual event one to be remembered,” she says.
