Thomas Gene Mitchell, age 86, a native of Dayton, Ohio and a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016.
“Husband, father, grandfather and friend, he’s left us but never will be forgotten.”
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He had a long career in the printing industry, which began at McCalls Printing Co., Dayton Ohio and retired from Southern Living magazine, Birmingham, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, L. Jean Mitchell; daughter, Karen (Richard) Esterline of Sun City, Florida; son, Thomas (Dianne) Mitchell of Foley, Alabama; grandchildren, Paula Renee Crace Belcher of Piketon, Ohio, Samantha, Brylin; numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. from the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
