FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Spirit of Fairhope: A Visual and Performing Arts Series will have its first event with a 2009 Summer Gala, “Under the Stars,” on June 20, 7 to 10 p.m., in the courtyard at Founders Square, 76 S. Section St. in Fairhope.
There will be complimentary refreshments, light hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.
During the event there will be an unveiling of an original sculpture, “Clock of Dreams,” by artist Bruce Larsen that will be on permanent display at Founders Square.
In addition, there will be an exhibit of over 10 sculptures by Larsen, most of which have never been seen before.
The exhibit will be on display for four months.
Mr. Big’s Horn Band Spectacular, with top musicians from New York, Miami and New Orleans, will provide a concert and dance music.
This high-energy revue has thrilled audiences all over the Southeast.
Boasting a world-class horn section coupled with powerhouse rhythm and a female vocal troupe, this unique eight-piece ensemble entertains the young of all ages with a complete repertoire of New Orleans jazz to burning R&B favorites.
Limited tickets, $50 per person, are available at the Eastern Shore Art Center, 401 Oak Ave. in Fairhope. Proceeds benefit the Art Center.
