Third Annual Scarecrow Festival at OBAC

Posted

The Orange Beach Arts Center is home to a host of creative community oriented activities including the upcoming Scarecrow Festival Friday October 7th 2011. The Scarecrow Festival is a free event that allows families and businesses the opportunity to let their inner fashion designer flourish. The Arts Center provides the frame, hay, paints and pillow cases (for the heads) and you provide the outfit, costume or couture for your scarecrow’s style.

In addition to scarecrow building there will be pumpkin painting, angry birds, caramel-apple making, hot dog roasting and a sing-along. Families and businesses are encouraged take their scarecrows home the following week to become part of their Halloween decorations. Imagine the island festooned with hay filled fellows!

Be a part of the island Halloween spirit; call the OBAC to reserve your scarecrow kit (981-2787).

This event is made possible by The Friends of the Arts, Inc., a non- profit organization whose goal is to see that the arts flourish on the island, in cooperation with the City of Orange Beach and local businesses. Business sponsors will display the Scarecrow Festival poster in their establishment.
