Mrs.

McKenzie’s kindergarten grade class enjoys the computer and getting

on Starfall. They also love math and learning about new and

extraordinary shapes and numbers.  They are very

excited to get 100s. They said that Mrs. McKenzie is one of their

favorite teachers yet!

In

Mrs. Christopher’s kindergarten class, they are making solid and

plain shapes that are related to Valentine’s Day. In stations they

are making sentences and illustrating them. In literature they are

reading a book called

"text-decoration: underline;">Bunny Day. The class’ favorite

thing is doing stations.

In

Ms. Rozum’s 1st grade class, the children are talking

about weather and seasons in science. They are also talking about

geography in social studies.  For reading they are

learning about adjectives and reading the story, Mama’s Birthday

Present. They are working very hard on skip counting and addition

in math. One thing they like about her class is

coloring.

Mrs. Schepker’s

3rd grade class has been doing some very fun projects,

like turning angles into pictures. They say it is very fun! In

science they are learning about the sun and the planets. They

created a poster, mobile, or diorama on each of the planets and

presented them in class. Mrs. Schepker is amazed at how creative

and informational their projects were! In Language Arts we have

enjoyed reading biographies and we love to write in cursive. When

they go to the computer lab, they usually go to

"http://www.compasslearning.com/">www.compasslearning.com and

take tests. They love to help Mrs. Schepker cleanup.

In

Mrs. Blair’s fifth grade class, they are making packets related to

colonies in social studies. In computer they use compass learning,

they play math games, and they also take A.R tests. In math they

are learning how to add and subtract fractions and

decimals.

In

Mrs. Harrison’s 6th grade class, they have been learning

how to add and subtract fraction with like and unlike denominators.

In Social Studies, students are learning about World War I and the

Great Depression. To learn about the effects of Earthquakes,

students will complete experiments using Jell-O. They use Compass,

AR, and use their projector for Brainpop. The kids like do projects

best in Mrs. Harrison’s class.
