South Baldwin Community Theater will lower the curtain on “Blame It On the Movies!” this weekend. The musical revue of hit songs from various movies through the last 50 years will be staged May 18-20.

“This is a great way to wrap our season this year and it’s a show that will really please people who like musicals,” according to Joyce James, director of the production.

The sound of movies is saluted in this cheerful musical cavalcade of wonderful songs and themes from the world’s favorite films. Fresh and fast-paced, “Blame It On The Movies!” is a nostalgic treat that covers more ground than your average Friday night at the karaoke bar, featuring unforgettable tunes from “The Wizard Of Oz,” “Meet Me In St. Louis,” “The Pink Panther,” “Rocky,” “Gone With The Wind,” “Goldfinger,” “The Color Purple,” “Footloose” and countless others, in a fun-filled homage to movie musicals, screwball comedies, westerns, sizzling screen romances, thrillers, action-adventure flicks and historical epics alike.

The theater is located at 2022 W. Second St. in Gulf Shores, across from the Erie Meyer Civic Center.

Curtain times for all shows will be at 7:30 pm. Sunday matinee will be at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at the box office.
