where can you find a greater celebration than in Gulf Shores where the march in March from Mud Bug to Beach Boulevard is celebrated? Nowhere! This is the genius of Bill “Papa” McGinnis who may not have kissed the Blarney Stone but Papa Rocco’s remains the Irish Rock that continues the traditional mark. Salute us, New York City: you have the numbers, Gulf Shores has the name.

Here in the South we add a little Scotch with the bagpipe and some of other cultural winds blow by but we still are proud to be Irish or mistaken for Irish. (Sounds like the Marines, eh?). Look at the pageantry that covers the sidewalk of a city block and feel the spirit of the Day.
